GenTech Propagation Ltd

Quality Control

Quality control is something of a necessity in a facility like GenTech, it is an area of our operations that we are rightly proud of.

Product Tracking
As a BSI Registered Firm, GenTech operations follow stringent procedures, and detailed records of all works are kept to ensure traceability. This system helps to build consistency and Quality Assurance into our products, the majority of suppliers and service providers we use also being BSI Registered.

Virus Testing
By routinely virus testing our growing plants we can assure that they remain as virus free as the day they were supplied to us as 'approved stock' from such places as The Scottish Office Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries Department (SOAEFD) HRI East Malling and SCRI Dundee.

Peat Testing
Before any peat is taken into our Glasshouse Facility, it is sample-tested for the presence of Erwinia, the cause of 'Black leg' in potato plants and only when our QC thresholds are satisfied is it deemed suitable for use.

Field Testing
Field crops are monitored for Aphid presence, to create a clear picture of the emergence and spread of the aphid population in the area of interest. This information can be used to the growers advantage regarding the need for pesticide application.
